Urban arts

(February 7, 2012)  The Flin Flon Arts Council has received a share of the Province’s Urban Arts Center funding that will be used to support the Northern Visual Arts Center on Green Street.  The Center’s Karen Clark says they have some good ideas of where the money will go.  She says one of the things they are looking at doing in the next year is to open a recycled art depot which would make recycled art material available at no cost to members of the public and young and emerging artists.  Another thing she said is they are hoping to increase at the Norva Center the types of classes they can offer to the public and their artists.

The Urban Arts Center program provides financial assistance to established community based not for profit arts and cultural organizations for ongoing arts programs with support going towards operating needs such as rent, lights, office supplies and salaries.
